NEW YORK STAGE AND FILM
HONORS
KYRA SEDGWICK, KEVIN BACON, and
DOUGLAS HARMON
AT THEIR ANNUAL WINTER GALA
November 10, 2008

New York Stage and Film (SAF) looks ahead to their upcoming 25th anniversary with their annual winter gala on November 10th at 6:30pm at Capitale (130 Bowery between Broom and Grand Streets). Kevin Bacon, Kyra Sedgwick and Douglas Harmon will be honored for their ongoing commitment to live performance and support of SAF.

Kyra has worked at SAF twice - first in a workshop of Joanna Murray-Smith's play Honour, with Meryl Streep and Sam Waterston in 1996; then again in 1999 in a workshop of Yield of a Long Bond by Larry Atlas, with David Strathairn and Byron Jennings. Douglas, the senior managing director of Eastdil Secured, the real estate investment banking company, has been on the Board of Directors since 1994. In 2007 Harmon executive produced Andrew Wagner’s critically acclaimed "Starting Out in the Evening" starring Frank Langella. Kevin’s devotion to the theater and his support of live performance has been truly extraordinary. Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are the first married couple to be honored by New York Stage and Film.

Julianna Margulies, Jon Tenney, and David Strathairn serve as honorary chairs for the gala.

“We are excited to kick off our 25th year of producing new and exciting theater by honoring Kyra, Kevin, and Doug for their wonderful contributions to SAF and to the theater community in general,” said Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer. “Since 1985, we have dedicated ourselves to both emerging and established artists in the development and production of theater and film and we look forward to continuing for the next 25 years.”

Ticket prices (which are tax deductible) begin at $350 and can be purchased by calling (212) 736 - 4240
