The Return of Murray Hill

I'm rather a closet Murray Hill fan (isn't that an irony wrapped in an irony wrapped in an irony wrapped in an enigma?), so I thought I'd give Murray's show a plug:

Like eggnog and mistletoe, Christmas isn't complete without Murray's annual legendary holiday extravaganza! Give the gift of Murray! Snowbiz!

A MURRAY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Featuring DIRTY MARTINI, BRIDGET EVERETT & KENNY MELLMAN,
THE PONTANI SISTERS, SANTA, ELVES (found on Craig's list!) and many more misfits…

SATURDAYS, DECEMBER 8 & 15 @ 7:30 PM & 10 PM
THE ZIPPER FACTORY, 336 West 37th Street

MURRAY HILL, "the hardest working middle-aged man in show business", gives the gift of holiday entertainment to New York City with his legendary Yuletide tradition: A Murray Little Christmas at THE ZIPPER FACTORY Saturday nights, December 8 & 15th with two shows a night at 7:30pm & 10pm.

Everyone is invited as Murray re-creates one of his infamous holiday cocktail parties, live on stage. The show will be a cozy, chestnut warming, homey affair direct from his bachelor pad living room (one large enough to accommodate 10 merry musicians, 6 crooning carolers, 3 strutting Santa showgirls, two singing stars, and one showbiz legend named Murray Hill). A Murray Little Christmas is a cocktail-style variety show packed with silver bells and holiday hi-balls.

The living room "set" is nearly an exact replica of Hill's own Brooklyn home including a handmade cardboard cut out fireplace, stockings hung with care (and duct tape), a flashy fake Christmas tree from the 99 cent store, a stack of Duraflames, and of course a fully stocked bar with flowing eggnog to keep the cast in holiday sprits (and to ensure they will show up). It's the liveliest Christmas cocktail party of the season and everyone is guaranteed to have a gay old time!

The holidays just wouldn't be the same without Murray's special blend of comedy, music and heartfelt hi-jinks. Expect an evening of hilarious and wacky skits with the cast, a sleigh full of cheesy holiday songs, dazzling production numbers that will knock the stockings off the mantle, red hot burlesque from the ladies, and Murray as the little drummer boy and or Baby Jesus (undecided as of press time). Murray also promises several tender moments when he sings his signature "Have Yourself a Murray Little Christmas" (tissues and ear plugs will be available to the audience upon request). And what has become a Murray holiday show tradition, Santa Claus (who happens to look a lot like you know who) will be making a surprise guest appearance encouraging females in the audience to sit on his lap and whisper in his ear.

New to the holiday show dream team is choreographer LARRY KEIGWAN. He has taught (persuaded) Murray to dance a special version of "The Nutcracker"…in pastel colored tights. This alone is worth the price of admission. No photos or videotaping will be allowed during this segment in case Murray ever decides to get into politics.

This year's heavy snowstorm of acts include:

The bawdy songstress Bridget Everett (At Least It's Pink) & Kenny Mellman (Kiki & Herb), Dirty Martini (Neo-burlesque legend), The World Famous Pontani Sisters (award-winning burlesque trio), Lesbian Overtone's Tabernacle Choir (singing troupe), Big Apple Burlesque (full swinging band with singers & dancers), Elizabeth Sharp (a child actor!), Trixi Little & Evil Hate Monkey (acrobatic duo from Baltimore), SEBASTIAN THE ELF (elf Murray hired off of Craig's List), and Murray's longtime piano player Mr. Lance Cruce.

This non-returnable gift of holiday entertainment captures the joy and jubilation, the Murray-ment and magnificence of the holiday season (all denominations, orientations and sexual proclivities will be celebrated). Only a Scrooge would not be touched by Hill's Holiday Extravaganza!

A MURRAY LITTLE CHRISTMAS plays 4 SHOWS, SATURDAYS, DECEMBER 8 at 7:30PM & 10:00PM and DECEMBER 15 at 7:30PM & 10:00PM at THE ZIPPER FACTORY (336 West 37 Street, between 8 & 9th Avenues). Tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased at: http://www.thezipperfactory.com/ or by (212) 352-3101. Group sales call 212-561-0480. $50.00 V.I.P. tickets include priority seating, a Murray tote bag, a pound of the brand new Gimme! Coffee Murray Showbiz blend.
