"I have a great deal of anger that's been brought up in me doing this play. And I'm not ashamed to say it. And I'm desperately trying to understand. And it's not that Elaine Stritch, who does jazzy material, is now suddenly doing Beckett. There's no difference in singing a good standard song by Rodgers and Hart and doing Beckett, only Rodgers and Hart doesn't make it so hard on you. I mean, can he give you a break once a while? I think this guy is a selfish son of a bitch. That's what I think. I think that Beckett is selfish, selfish, selfish..."
